USCIS Announces EAD Extension for Haitian TPS Beneficiaries
Expired EADs may be used by Haitian TPS beneficiaries to complete the Form I-9.
On January 26, 2023, USCIS published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register announcing that Employment Authorization Documents ("EAD" or "Form I-766") issued to Haitian TPS beneficiaries bearing an expiration date of February 3, 2023 have been extended through February 3, 2024.
New or existing employees can use this EAD, standing alone, to establish identity and work authorization and complete an initial (new hire) or reverification (existing employee).
It is important to note that there are two different TPS designations for Haiti, one where the EADs have been extended through June 30, 2024 and this one, where the EADs have only been extended through February 3, 2024.
