USCIS Issuing Updated I-797C for Certain Operation Allies Welcome Parolees
Some Afghan nationals who entered the United States under Operation Allies Welcome will be issued a new Form I-797C, Notice of Action stating that the DHS is extending their employment authorization documentation (EAD) to align with the parole period on their Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record.
This will be done instead of issuing new EAD's to the approximately 90,000 individuals paroled into the United States under this program.
To demonstrate work authorization, these employees may present their EAD (Form I-766) showing a Category Code of C-11, as well as their Form I-797C showing that the EAD has been extended. To properly manage this employee's Form I-9, the EAD expiration date should match the expiration date on the Form I-797C itself.
