DHS Extends EAD Validity for TPS Beneficiaries in Six Countries
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a notice in the federal register extending Employment Authorization Document (EAD) validity for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries from El Salvador, Haiti, Nicaragua, Sudan, Honduras, and Nepal.
The new expiration date for EADs presented by TPS beneficiaries from these six countries is June 30, 2024. The validity of the EAD is extended through this date if the EAD has a category code of A-12 or C-19 and an expiration of one of the following dates:
- 7/22/2017
- 11/2/2017
- 1/5/2018
- 1/22/2018
- 3/9/2018
- 6/24/2018
- 7/5/2018
- 11/2/2018
- 1/5/2019
- 4/2/2019
- 6/24/2019
- 7/22/2019
- 9/9/2019
- 1/2/2020
- 1/5/2020
- 3/24/2020
- 1/4/2021
- 10/4/2021
- 12/31/2022
Individuals impacted by this new announcement may update their Form I-9 by providing an employer with a copy of the Federal Register notice, an eligible expiring or expired TPS EAD, and any other necessary Form I-9 documents.
