President Biden Signs Stopgap Spending Measure; Federal Government Funded until February 18, 2022
A partial shutdown would have taken E-Verify offline.
U.S. government funding was set to expire at 11:59 p.m. on December 3, 2021. Today, President Biden signed a stopgap spending measure which will fund the government through February 18, 2022.
Because the stopgap spending measure was passed, a partial government shutdown has been avoided. As such, the E-Verify system and E-Verify support remain online. Employers are able to create new cases and resolve tentative nonconfirmations (TNCs) as they normally would.
However, a lapse in appropriations may occur at 11:59 p.m. on February 18, 2022. If such a lapse were to occur, the E-Verify system and E-Verify support would be offline and employers would not be able to create new cases or resolve TNCs.
Truescreen has developed solutions, strategies, and contingencies to handle any shutdown-induced E-Verify outages with minimal impact to our clients.
This is an evolving situation that Truescreen is monitoring and will continue to inform our clients of updates as they become available.
