Lawsuit filed against Chipotle for FCRA violations
The popular chain restaurant is being sued after allegations that it failed to provide the plaintiff with a copy of his consumer report after making adverse decisions regarding his employment based on information found in his criminal background check.
According to Legalnewsline.com, the suit claims that by failing to provide Correa with a copy of his background investigation report, Chipotle was in violation of the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, and more specifically the provisions that require businesses who obtain consumer reports for employment purposes to provide applicant’s with a written summary of their rights under the act, along with a pre-adverse action disclosure that includes a copy of the subject’s consumer report.
