Three members of Truescreen’s internal auditing unit earn quality auditor certifications
Carvon Johnson, Director of Internal Auditing; Marco Centanni, Audit Manager; and Rebecca Charney, Internal Auditor completed the requirements necessary to be designated as Certified Quality Auditors (CQA) by the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
“Earning an ASQ certification is more than a great accomplishment – it’s a formal recognition of professionals that they have demonstrated and understanding of, and a commitment to, quality practices in their field,” said ASQ Chair Cecilia Kimberlin.
In order for Carvon, Marco and Rebecca to qualify for the examination, each had to meet a series of minimum requirements including eight years of experience in one or more of the areas of the CQA Body of Knowledge (BOK). The BOK is a document created and maintained by ASQ describing the fundamentals, applications, tools and techniques associated with quality auditing functions. ASQ further requires that three of these eight years be in a decision-making position – defined as a role in which an individual has the authority to define, execute, or control projects and is responsible for outcomes. ASQ requires that individuals become recertified every three years.
The knowledge acquired by Carvon, Marco and Rebecca through preparing for and passing this exam will be instrumental in developing, maintaining and improving Truescreen’s Quality Manual policies. It will further empower them to train and educate their team on the basic principles associated with internal quality auditing. This certification will generate more effective and proactive quality auditing practices implemented by Truescreen, ultimately empowering our clients to make safer hiring decisions.
